Raphinha initiated the scoring for the hosts, followed by Joao Felix, another player who returned to the Barcelona starting lineup, doubling the lead just after halftime.

Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez completed the scoring for Xavi’s team.

Barcelona now trail leaders Real Madrid by five points, holding a one-point advantage over third-placed Girona.

Real Madrid will host Sevilla on Sunday (20:00 GMT) aiming to extend their unbeaten streak to 30 matches in all competitions, while Girona will face Rayo Vallecano on Monday (20:00 GMT).

Both Real Madrid and Girona have a match in hand over Barcelona.
