Harry Kane netted his 36th Bundesliga goal of the season, but Bayern Munich suffered a 3-1 defeat to Stuttgart at the MHPArena.

The England captain equalized from the penalty spot in the 37th minute following a foul on Serge Gnabry.

Stuttgart had taken an early lead when Leonidas Stergiou scored his first Bundesliga goal within the first half-hour.

Late in the game, Jeong Woo-yeong restored Stuttgart’s lead before Silas clinched a memorable victory in stoppage time.

With a crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid on the horizon, Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern saw their intensity wane in the second half.

Stuttgart dominated much of the game, maintaining possession and pressing Bayern throughout. As Stuttgart pushed forward, Bayern found a chance on the counter with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, but his shot went wide.

Jeong, a former Bayern player, headed in a cross from Silas at close range, leaving goalkeeper Neuer no chance.

In the final moments, Silas sealed the victory with a superb right-footed finish past Bayern captain Neuer.

Kane’s goal brings him within five of Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 Bundesliga goals in a season, with two matches remaining.

The victory marked Stuttgart’s first home win against Bayern since 2007, bolstering their chances for a Champions League spot.
