Bayern Munich turn to Osimhen, place Kane talks on hold

Bayern Munich have shifted their focus to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, putting discussions with Harry Kane on hold.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham rejected a €70 million bid for the England international, asking €90 million, therefore Bayern Munich has halted talks and is considering making an offer to Napoli for Osimhen.

The Italian publication reports that while the Bavarians are unwilling to match Napoli‘s €180m asking price, they are prepared to offer more than €100m.

Bayern would rather pay this fee for the 24-year-old than €90m for Kane, who will turn 30 on July 28. Talks between the club and the player’s entourage have already begun.

It remains to be seen if it will be enough for Napoli, who have reportedly rejected a €100m offer from PSG. Liverpool are also interested in Osimhen.

If the Nigeria international joins Bayern, he will reunite with Napoli defender Kim who has agreed to personal terms with the Bundesliga giants ahead of a transfer worth more than €50m.

Meanwhile, Following Arsenal’s imminent signing of Declan Rice, talkTV host Piers Morgan has named Osimhen as a world-class striker they should break the bank to sign insisting that he can help Arsenal go one better next season and fire the goals to help end the club’s 20-year title drought.

Morgan tweeted, “It’s brilliant that Arsenal seem to have won the race to sign @_DeclanRice who will be a monstrously good addition to the team. But if we want to win big trophies, we also need a world-class striker who will score 25+ goals a season. I’d break the bank for @victorosimhen9.”
