Bayern set to sign winger Olise from Palace

Bayern Munich are set to sign Michael Olise after the Crystal Palace winger chose to join the Bundesliga giants.

Earlier this month, Bayern, Chelsea, and Newcastle had all expressed interest in the 22-year-old by contacting Palace.

The deal was expected to be complex, with Olise’s release clause valued at around £60 million, and percentages of the transfer fee due to Palace, the player, and his former club Reading.

Chelsea reportedly had concerns about the overall cost of the deal. They had previously attempted to sign the France Under-21 international for around £35 million last summer, believing they had activated his release clause.

However, Olise subsequently signed a new four-year contract with Palace, lasting until 2027.

Olise has been selected for the France squad for the Paris Olympics, starting in July.

Last season, he scored 10 goals in 19 appearances for Palace, despite missing several games due to a hamstring injury.

Manchester United had also shown interest in Olise but are currently focusing on other targets.
