Bournemouth striker Evanilson faces a period on the sidelines following surgery on a broken foot.

The Brazilian forward was substituted late in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Everton.

Subsequent assessments revealed a fractured metatarsal, necessitating an operation.

The Cherries have confirmed that the surgery was successful but have not provided a specific timeline for the 25-year-old’s recovery.

“The club’s medical staff will now provide Evanilson with their full support through the rehabilitation process, ensuring he has the best possible recovery,” read a statement.

Evanilson has scored five goals in 19 appearances since joining Bournemouth for a club record £40m deal from Porto in August.

Saturday’s win against the Toffees saw Bournemouth set a new club record of eight Premier League games unbeaten.

Andoni Iraola’s side are seventh in the table, three points outside the top four.

Cherries sign Argentina youth defender Soler

Bournemouth have completed the signing of defender Julio Soler from Argentine club Lanus on a four-year deal.

The 19-year-old joins for an initial fee of £6.6 million, which could rise to £11.5 million with add-ons.

Soler made 58 appearances for Lanus, having debuted for the club in 2022.

Bournemouth technical director Simon Francis added: “Julio is another talented young player who arrives highly sought after and we are pleased to have added him to our squad.

“With the way Andoni and his staff improve exciting prospects, we look forward to seeing Julio’s progress with us.”

Soler, born in Paraguay, has represented Argentina at the youth level and featured in every match at last summer’s Paris Olympics.

He becomes Bournemouth’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of United States youth international center-back Matai Akinmboni from DC United.
