Brentford win appeal against Norgaard red card
Brentford captain Christian Norgaard has avoided a three-match suspension after the club successfully appealed his red card from the 0-0 draw against Everton on November 23.
The Danish international was sent off in the 41st minute at Goodison Park following a challenge on Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford while attempting to score from inside the six-yard box.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) advised on-field referee Chris Kavanagh to review the incident on the pitch-side monitor.
After the review, Norgaard received a straight red card for serious foul play, which would have resulted in a three-match ban.
However, Brentford’s appeal for wrongful dismissal was upheld, meaning Norgaard is now eligible to play in their upcoming Premier League match against Leicester City on Saturday, November 30 (15:00).
