Oliver Burke scored a magnificent hat-trick as Union Berlin won a seven-goal Bundesliga thriller at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 13-cap Scotland international made it 2-0 on 32 minutes after Ilyas Ansah opened the scoring for the visitors.

Nathaniel Brown hit back for Frankfurt on the stroke of half-time, but Burke, 28, then scored twice in four second-half minutes to put Union in control.

Frankfurt goals from Can Uzun and Jonathan Burkardt ensured a nervy finish, but Union held on for all three points.

Burke made his Scotland debut as an 18-year-old in 2016, but has not been capped since a substitute appearance against Israel in 2020.

He signed for Union in the summer after his deal with Werder Bremen expired and scored his first goals for the club in a stunning performance.

His first came via a calm finish after streaking away from the Frankfurt defence, before a header at the back post and a delightful dink sealed the first Bundesliga hat-trick by a Scottish player.

Union are 10th in the Bundesliga table with six points from four matches, while Frankfurt are sixth on the same amount of points.
