Dango Ouattara was the hero of the day, as he put Burkina Faso ahead on first half added time.

He displayed superb quick feet and dribbling as he jinxed his way through multiple challenges and took a shot from inside the box, which was deflected and went past stranded Bechir Ben Said.

Tunisia could not replicate the form which saw them knocked out Nigeria in the round of 16.

On 51 minutes, Ibrahim Blati Toure had a great chance inside the six-yard box, shot to the middle of the goal, but Bechir Ben Said pulled off an exquisite save to deny him.

Ali Maaloul, on 69 minutes unleashed a shot goalward from a mid-range free kick. The ball headed towards the right post, but the goalkeeper made a decent save to thwart him.
