Burnley has secured the services of Ivory Coast striker David Datro Fofana on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season.

In January 2023, Fofana joined Stamford Bridge on a six-year contract from the Norwegian club Molde.

During the initial half of the season, he was on loan at Union Berlin in Germany, where he featured in 17 matches and scored in the Champions League group stages against Napoli.

Expressing his sentiments, the 21-year-old mentioned that Burnley is the “ideal” club for his continued development.

He added: “To work with [Clarets boss] Vincent Kompany will be very good. I have seen a couple of games already and I think this is the right place for me to make the next steps.”

Approval from the Premier League and the Football Association is required for Fofana’s loan agreement to proceed.
