Nigerian representatives in the CAF Champions League, Plateau United and Mountain of Fire Miracle FC are ready to face the test of their intentions to go far in the preliminary rounds of the continental club contest.

Nigeria Professional Football League 2017 Champions, Plateau United are home to Eding Sport of Cameroon, while MFM are away to AS Real Real Bamako.

Plateau coach Kennedy Boboye disclosed that his wards are ready to fight and make a good start to their campaign.

As for MFM, they are facing a tough opponent in AS Real Bamako who are no strangers to the Champions League contest. Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu admitted that his side are the underdogs, but they will not be rolled over.

“We will surely give our opponents a fight right from blast of the whistle. We are not going to defend, we are an attacking team with great character,” maintained a confident Ilechukwu.

“We are aware that we are the underdogs in the CAF Champions League, but we will also recall that we finished runners-up in the NPFL last season even though nobody gave us a chance.

“We have worked throughout the week to ensure we carry the day and make the return leg a mere formality.

“It is possible to win in Mali, if we get our strategy right. I have told the boys to enjoy the game and not to be under any pressure. We promise not to return home empty handed,” he assured.
