The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has designated Morocco as the host nation for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers leading to the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

This decision is part of CAF’s ongoing efforts to ensure a smooth and highly competitive qualification process for African teams aiming for spots at the global tournament.

Morocco, which has hosted multiple major continental competitions in recent years, is considered a reliable venue and is expected to provide top-class facilities and organisation for the qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s national under-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, remains the most successful side in the competition’s history, having claimed the title a record five times.

The qualifiers will feature teams from across Africa competing for places at the U-17 AFCON tournament, which will ultimately decide Africa’s representatives at the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
