CAF to announce hosts, assistants, performers for Cote d’Ivoire 2024 AFCON draw

With just two days remaining until the final draw for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, all the participants in the event are prepared, as confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The draw, which will unveil the groups and the teams’ paths to the final, will be attended by some of Africa’s prominent sports figures, entertainment celebrities, football officials, international media, CAF associates, and business partners.

Aside from Nigeria, there are several other teams eager to discover their group-stage adversaries. These teams include Côte d’Ivoire (the host nation), Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo DR, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Mali.

Among the other teams awaiting the draw are Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, and the defending champions, Senegal. Additionally, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Zambia are also included on the list.

According to CAF, the final draw will take place at the Parc des Expositions in Abidjan, a renowned and impressive venue in Cote d’Ivoire’s economic center. The event is scheduled for Thursday at 7:00 p.m. GMT (8:00 p.m. Nigerian time).

CAF has announced that the draw will be broadcast live on its YouTube channel and through its global TV partners.

This final draw marks a significant milestone leading up to the commencement of the Africa Cup of Nations, during which the 24 participating member associations will learn their group stage opponents. The tournament is set to kick off on January 13, 2024, and conclude on February 11, 2024

CAF announced that today marks the beginning of the unveiling of key figures participating in the final draw, which includes the draw hosts, draw assistants and renowned musical and cultural performers.
