The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has offered its respects to former Super Falcons player, Desire Oparanozie, after her retirement from professional football.
Oparanozie on Wednesday concluded her remarkable career by announcing her retirement from both international and club football at the age of 29.
Following her announcement on her X account, former Falcons teammates Ashleigh Plumptre and Ngozi Okobi, alongside millions of fans, conveyed heartfelt messages as she embarked on a new chapter.
The African football governing body on Thursday along with countless fans and friends, commemorated the striker and extended their best wishes for her future endeavors.

Prior to her retirement, Oparanozie earned 35 caps for the Super Falcons and netted 22 goals.
At the youth level, the forward showcased her talent for Nigeria in both the U-17 and U-20 categories. She netted two goals during the 2010 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Germany, contributing to the Falconets’ journey to the final, where they faced a 2-0 defeat against the hosts.
As a senior player, Oparanozie won four WAFCON titles, including the Golden Boot in 2014, and played at four FIFA Women’s World Cups.
She will be remembered for her goals on the field, but her off-field work promoting women’s football and empowering girls will also be long-lasting.
