Carlos Tevez admitted to hospital with chest pains

The former Argentina international, Carlos Tevez, has been hospitalized due to experiencing chest pains.

Tevez was hospitalized in Buenos Aires on Tuesday and will stay there until medical examinations are finished.

The 40-year-old ex-Manchester United, Manchester City, and West Ham striker currently serves as the head coach of the Argentine top-flight team Independiente.

Independiente said in a statement on X, external that Tevez’s initial tests at the Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro were “satisfactory” but he will stay there for the time being as a “precaution”.

Tevez, who earned 76 caps for Argentina from 2004 to 2015, assumed the role of Independiente’s manager in August 2023.

Prior to this, he briefly managed Rosario Central after retiring as a player in June 2022, concluding his third spell with Boca Juniors.

During his time in the Premier League between 2006 and 2013, Tevez made 201 appearances and scored 84 goals.

He clinched the Premier League title twice with United (2007-08 and 2008-09) and once with City (2011-12).
