Celtic fined, could face fan ban after firework

Celtic have been fined around £16,700 for “lighting of fireworks” during their recent Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund.

Additionally, the Scottish Premiership champions could face a one-match ban on away supporters at a UEFA club competition if a similar incident occurs within the next two years.

UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body stated: “Celtic FC has been fined €20,000 and banned from selling tickets to away supporters for one UEFA club competition match, due to the lighting of fireworks.”

“Said ban from selling tickets to its away supporters is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.”

Celtic opened their league phase with a 5-1 home win over Slovan Bratislava before losing 7-1 in Germany.
