A delegation from Chelsea F.C. on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi at his palace in Lagos.
The delegation included former Nigeria national football team star and ex-Chelsea player Victor Moses, who played a key role during the visit.
Oba Elegushi warmly welcomed the visitors, describing the meeting as a significant moment for football, culture, and international cooperation.
The monarch also stressed the importance of building stronger connections between international football institutions and local communities in Nigeria.
The visit highlights Chelsea’s ongoing relationship with Nigerian football personalities and traditional institutions, reflecting the club’s large fan base and influence in the country.
He said, “Today, I hosted a delegation from Chelsea Football Club, UK #chelseafc which also included our ex-international, Victor Moses #victormoses, accompanied by Chelsea Fans club, Nigeria.
“I am honoured by the visit and I use the opportunity to inform the Chelsea team to support our local clubs and football academies, exploring partnerships that will benefit of our teeming youths who want to play football.
