Juventus are poised to sign Chelsea defender Renato Veiga on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The Italian club will cover the wages of the Portuguese international and pay a £3.8m loan fee, but no option to buy has been included in the agreement.
Veiga, who joined Chelsea from Swiss club Basel for £11.8m in July, is said to have grown frustrated with playing at left-back and prefers a role at centre-back.
Chelsea believe a move to Italy will offer him more playing time, as Veiga is eager to remain in Portugal’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Juventus have secured Veiga’s signature ahead of Champions League contenders Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca had urged Veiga to stay last week, saying: “If there is a player who just wants to play in one position, they’re going to struggle.”
Veiga has made just one Premier League start this season in 18 appearances in all competitions.
