Following Kylian Mbappe’s declaration to Paris St-Germain of his intention to depart at the season’s conclusion, Manager Luis Enrique emphasized that “the club and team take precedence over any individual.”

Mbappe’s contract with the Ligue 1 champions is nearing its end, and there have been strong rumors linking him to Real Madrid.

During a press conference, Luis Enrique stated that he had “no information” regarding the matter.

“I don’t raise it until the parties involved have given their opinion,” he added.

“Kylian Mbappe hasn’t said anything publicly, nor has anyone else at the club. So I’m the coach. When the parties speak, I’ll give you my opinion, but we’re continuing to work so that we can continue to be a better team every year.”

Last summer, Mbappe, aged 25, found himself embroiled in a significant standoff with PSG, resulting in the France captain’s exclusion and omission from his club’s pre-season tour of Asia.

Eventually, an agreement was reached between the two parties to ensure PSG’s interests wouldn’t be compromised when Mbappe, who joined for €180 million (£165.7 million) from Monaco in 2017, eventually departs the Parc des Princes.

The forward possesses a one-year extension clause, thus his departure is expected to involve either a transfer sale with a fee or financial concessions from the player’s side.

During his pre-match press conference on Friday, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was questioned about his club’s potential interest in the Frenchman.

“When there is a player of that calibre, we always have to be in the conversation, but it looks a different way,” Arteta said.

Heading into the most recent round of games, PSG held an 11-point advantage over second-placed Nice at the summit of the French league. Additionally, they are set to face Nice in the quarter-finals of the domestic cup.

In their last-16 Champions League clash, PSG secured a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad in the first leg on Wednesday. Mbappe found the net for the opener, increasing his total goals for the season to 31.
