Cristiano Ronaldo joins YouTube, breaks record in less than 12 hours

Cristiano Ronaldo made his highly anticipated YouTube debut on Wednesday, August 21, with his channel ‘UR · Cristiano,’ and quickly shattered the record for the fastest to reach 10 million followers on the platform.

The football superstar surpassed the 10 million mark in just 10 hours, breaking the previous record set by MrBeast, who took 132 days to achieve the same milestone. Ronaldo’s channel gained one million subscribers within the first 90 minutes of its launch.

“The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey,” Ronaldo posted on his social media handles.

“Cristiano shares with his family his happiness for being the fastest YouTube channel hitting 1M siuuubscribers in History. And his kids’ reaction is priceless,” the video was captioned.

The videos shared by the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star ranges from him having some fun with his family to motivational videos based on his experiences. The channel will see the Portuguese star discuss his “greatest passion” (football), as well as “his other interests, including family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business.” As per the news announcement, it will also see Ronaldo chat with various guests.

The new channel will be a part of many of his business ventures including, Ursu Water, Erakulis fitness app and the CR7 brand, which makes fragrances, underwear, eyewear and footwear.
