Crystal Palace goalkeeper set to miss Euros after elbow surgery

Crystal Palace’s goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone, has been sidelined for the remainder of the Premier League season due to elbow surgery, and he’s also expected to be absent from Euro 2024 this summer.

After pulling out of the England squad last Sunday, the 31-year-old underwent evaluation by a specialist.

Despite holding four England caps, he was anticipated to serve as Jordan Pickford’s backup in Germany.

Johnstone has participated in 23 matches for Palace during this season.

Currently positioned 14th in the Premier League, Palace is scheduled to play against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground this Saturday at 3:00 PM GMT.
