Crystal Palace put £60m price tags on Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace will consider bids for star forwards Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise only if they are £60 million or higher for each player.

Having secured their place in the Premier League for a record 12th consecutive season, Crystal Palace is in no financial pressure to sell star forwards Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

Despite this, the club acknowledges that, given the recent high praise for 25-year-old Eze and the impressive form of 22-year-old Olise, offers for both are expected this summer.

Palace has set a starting price of £60 million for each player as the entry point for negotiations. Both players signed long-term contracts this season, strengthening Palace’s bargaining position.

There are no straightforward release clauses in either contract, making any potential deals complex, involving payments to the players’ former clubs and the players themselves.

Last summer, Eze attracted interest from Manchester City, who opted to sign Matheus Nunes from Wolves instead.

Chelsea made an unsuccessful attempt to sign Olise for about £35 million, mistakenly believing they had triggered his release clause.

Both players are content at Palace and are focused on ensuring that any future transfer benefits them, particularly choosing a team where they can showcase their skills and attacking prowess.

Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy said Eze was “on a different planet” in their 5-2 win over West Ham on Sunday, adding: “He is a Champions League player – I’m sorry, Palace fans. He will not be there next season. This is an unbelievable talent.

“There are going to be so many clubs after him because he can do the lot. A wonderful, wonderful player.”

Crystal Palace’s gameplay noticeably shifts when Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze are absent. The duo has only started together in six Premier League matches but have contributed to 13 of the 14 goals scored in those games.

Olise and Eze, both recruited from Championship clubs under the guidance of sporting director Dougie Freedman, are standout successes at Palace.

Alongside them, Marc Guehi was signed after his tenure at Swansea (on loan from Chelsea) and Adam Wharton was acquired more recently from Blackburn for £18 million.

Wharton has quickly made an impression at Selhurst Park, drawing attention from other Premier League clubs.

His exceptional passing and vision have been crucial in midfield, enabling Eze and Olise to find opportunities in attacking positions.

Another player likely to attract transfer interest this summer is England international Marc Guehi. Since joining Palace in 2021, the 23-year-old defender has excelled and secured a spot in the England squad.

With a strong chance of being part of Gareth Southgate’s team for the Euros and entering the final two years of his contract, Guehi’s future is a focal point.
