Diogo Jota marked his return from injury with a late equaliser as Premier League leaders Liverpool twice came from behind with 10 men to earn a draw against Fulham at Anfield, following Andy Robertson’s red card.

Jota, who had been sidelined since October, scored the leveller in the 86th minute after Rodrigo Muniz appeared to have sealed the win for Fulham. Cody Gakpo had earlier cancelled out Andreas Pereira’s 11th-minute opener with a header from Mohamed Salah’s exquisite cross just after halftime.

Liverpool’s task became even harder when Robertson was sent off for denying Harry Wilson a clear goalscoring opportunity six minutes after Pereira’s volley had put Fulham ahead. While Fulham’s Issa Diop had only been booked for a high challenge on an offside Robertson, the VAR review confirmed Wilson was onside before he capitalized on Robertson’s mistake.

Fulham’s free-kick from Wilson just after the red card went narrowly over, but Liverpool reset and continued to threaten. Luis Diaz missed a header from their best chance before the break.

In the second half, Liverpool came out strong, and Gakpo’s quick equaliser after the restart ignited the crowd. Fulham failed to take full advantage of their numerical edge, allowing Liverpool to press on. Salah came close to completing the turnaround but couldn’t find the target before Muniz struck, seemingly putting Fulham ahead for the final time.

However, in the dying moments of an exhilarating match, Jota marked his return with a clinical finish, earning a well-deserved point for Liverpool in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Despite the draw, Liverpool extended their lead over Chelsea, who play Brentford on Sunday, to five points after third-place Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Everton.
