Endrick sets record in Real Madrid Champions League win

Endrick became Real Madrid’s youngest-ever Champions League goalscorer during a hard-fought home victory over Stuttgart, in which Kylian Mbappé also found the net.

At 18 years and 58 days old, the Brazilian forward surpassed the previous record held by club legend Raúl, who scored in 1995 at 18 years and 113 days.

Having joined Madrid from Palmeiras this summer, Endrick had already made headlines as the youngest player to score on his La Liga debut for the club in the 21st century, after coming off the bench against Real Valladolid.

Endrick sealed the victory with the final kick of the match, having replaced Jude Bellingham in the 80th minute at the Bernabeu Stadium.

French forward Mbappé, making his Champions League debut for Los Blancos, opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the second half. Aurelien Tchouameni delivered a sweeping pass to Rodrygo, who unselfishly set up Mbappé for an easy tap-in.

Former Brighton striker Deniz Undav equalised for Stuttgart with a well-placed header in the 68th minute, raising tension at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid regained the lead in the 83rd minute through Antonio Rüdiger’s header.

Jude Bellingham, returning after missing four games with a calf injury, played 80 minutes before being substituted.

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness may have wondered how his side didn’t take an early lead, having missed two key chances in the first half. Enzo Millot dragged an effort wide after 10 minutes, while Thibaut Courtois made a crucial save to deny Angelo Stiller.

Undav came close again when his long-range shot deflected off Dani Carvajal’s leg and hit the top of the crossbar.

Vinícius Jr nearly added to Real’s tally, striking the crossbar with a powerful shot from the edge of the box in the 58th minute.

Real Madrid will next face Lille, while Stuttgart host Sparta Prague.
