EPL: Liverpool draw Luton as Nottingham Forest thrash Aston Villa

Luiz Diaz scored a last-gasp leveller as Liverpool salvaged a point following a 1-1 draw at Luton in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter on Sunday.

The home side put on a sturdy defensive performance and was on the cusp of a priceless victory following Tahith Chong’s late strike before Diaz dampened their impressive performance.

Luton took the lead when Chong finished off a counter-attack in the 80th minute, sliding in to convert a low cross seconds after Liverpool players thought they should have been awarded a penalty kick.

The undeterred Reds would eventually find the back of the net through Diaz’s header, as the Colombian winger — whose father was recently kidnapped in his native country — celebrated by revealing a T-shirt of his image.

Jurgen Klopp’s side could not find the winner as Luton earned a priceless point that saw them move out of the bottom three on goal difference. Liverpool, however, moved up to third position with the same points and goals difference as fourth-placed Arsenal.

Earlier in the day, Ola Aina scored in the 5th-minute to put Nottingham Forest on the road to a 2-0 win over high-flying Aston Villa.

The Super Eagles defender side-footed into the net from 25 yards to claim his first goal for the club he joined in the summer.
