FA Cup: Tottenham set to face Man City in fourth round

80

Tottenham is set to welcome defending champions Manchester City in the FA Cup fourth round.

Chelsea is set to confront title contenders Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge in another all-Premier League clash. Following their Monday victory against Wigan Athletic, Manchester United awaits an away fixture against either League Two Newport County or National League side Eastleigh.

Maidstone United, the lowest-ranked team remaining in the cup, is scheduled to face Championship side Ipswich. The upcoming ties are slated for the weekend of Saturday, 27 January.

George Elokobi’s team, playing in the sixth-tier National League South, secured a 1-0 win against League One Stevenage on Saturday.

Spurs, currently in fifth place, are trailing City by just one point in the Premier League table. Notably, they have emerged victorious against Pep Guardiola’s side in all five encounters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Their encounter is among four confirmed all-Premier League matchups, as Fulham prepares to host Newcastle and Brighton sets out for Sheffield United. Two additional potential clashes could arise if West Ham and Nottingham Forest triumph in their third-round replays. Similarly, Luton might visit Crystal Palace or Everton if they advance past Bolton.

In the event of Wolves emerging victorious in their third-round replay against fellow Premier League side Brentford, they will face a local derby against West Brom, currently contending for promotion from the Championship.

The outcome of the matchup between Bristol Rovers, positioned 10th in League One, or Championship side Norwich will determine the away team traveling to Liverpool.
