Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has expressed confidence that Super Eagles newcomer Femi Azeez has a bright future with the national team.

Udeze made the remark after the Millwall winger delivered an impressive performance on his debut against Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup, scoring twice in Nigeria’s victory.

Speaking with Brila FM, the former PAOK defender praised Azeez’s display and said the youngster showed great promise.

“I watched the Azeez against Zimbabwe, and I was really delighted with the way he played.

“He was everywhere and gave Zimbabwe some moments of nightmares.

“I want to see more of this performance against Jamaica and subsequent games that the Super Eagles will play.”

Friendly Matches Against Poland And Portugal

The Super Eagles are also scheduled to face Poland and Portugal in international friendly matches during the June 2026 FIFA window.

Nigeria will take on Poland on June 3 at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw before facing Portugal on June 10 at a venue in Portugal.

The fixtures are aimed at keeping the team competitive during the international break. For Portugal, the encounter will serve as their final preparation match before travelling to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria, three-time African champions, will miss the World Cup for a second successive tournament after failing to qualify for the 2026 edition.

The Super Eagles, who are the defending champions of the Unity Cup, will now turn their attention to Saturday’s final against Jamaica in London.
