FIFA President, CAF Chiefs, other to grace Aisha Buhari Cup

President of the world football governing body FIFA, Gianni Infantino will attend the maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Tournament.

President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe will also be attending the tournament.

Amaju Pinnick, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) revealed this to ARISE News on Monday noting that both presidents would arrive on Wednesday with their entourage.

The NFF President also revealed that Infantino would travel to Abuja after the opening ceremony to see President Buhari, stay for one more day and then leave the country.

Other dignitaries to grace the Aisha Buhari cup are Fatma Samoura, FIFA General Secretary; Kanizat Ibrahim, CAF Vice President; and six other football federation presidents in Africa.

He noted that after the arrival of the football chiefs, they would have be taken to Marina house where Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu would lead them to the stadium, Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Pinnick said the Aisha Buhari Cup is a tournament that has come to stay. He thanked the first lady for her support noting that the competition epitomizes the first lady for her strong will and championing of women’s recognition.
