FIFA to compensate Real Madrid for Camavinga’s injury after French training incident
Eduardo Camavinga sustained a knee ligament sprain after colliding with former Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele during a French national team training session.
As a result, the 20-year-old is expected to be out of action until 2024, delivering a substantial setback to Real Madrid and their ambitious pursuit of multiple titles.
With Aurelien Tchouameni sidelined for six weeks due to a foot injury, Real Madrid is now without Camavinga, who served as Tchouameni’s direct backup in the defensive midfield position under Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 system, as reported by Football Espana.
Real Madrid finds a bit of relief in the form of FIFA compensation for Camavinga’s injury during international duty. According to reports, the Spanish club is set to receive €20,548 per day, amounting to a total of €1,232,880 for the anticipated two-month recovery duration.
Nevertheless, this compensation provides only limited comfort for Real Madrid, who would greatly prefer to have Camavinga on the field for the next eight weeks. His injury leaves the team with significant limitations in the defensive midfield as they progress forward.
