Manchester City will take on Liverpool in the standout tie of the FA Cup quarter-final draw, while underdogs Port Vale will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.
City and Liverpool are set to clash in the competition for the first time since the 2021–22 semi-final at Wembley Stadium, where Liverpool secured a 3-2 victory with a brace from Sadio Mané.
Port Vale earned their quarter-final place after defeating Sunderland and will now face Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea side, who remain in pursuit of a ninth FA Cup title after narrowly overcoming Wrexham in a thrilling six-goal encounter.
The League One side has reached the FA Cup quarter-finals for only the second time in its history, the first being during the 1953–54 campaign, and will aim to claim another major upset.
Meanwhile, Southampton, who shocked Premier League side Fulham in the fifth round, will host league leaders Arsenal at St Mary’s on the weekend of April 4–5.
The remaining quarter-final match will feature the winner of Monday’s London derby between West Ham United and Brentford against Leeds United, managed by Daniel Farke.
