The Argentine star scored the goal of the year on Sunday against Everton, executing a remarkable bicycle kick into the back of the net.
Following his remarkable goal, Garnacho turned to social media, sharing three photos and expressing gratitude to God for his heroics.
The 18-year-old captioned his Instagram post with a simple message: “God is great,” accompanied by prayer and heart emojis. The post has since garnered over two million likes.
Garnacho scores wonder goal
Garnacho wasted no time in showcasing his brilliance against Everton, scoring in the third minute of their Premier League match, as reported by Yahoo Sports.
Finding himself in open space while Diogo Dalot prepared to cross the ball down the right flank, Dalot’s pass sailed over Garnacho’s head, prompting the Manchester United winger to improvise with his shot attempt.
Garnacho skillfully timed his leap to connect with the high ball, executing a spectacular bicycle kick. Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had no chance of saving Garnacho’s strike, as the acrobatic effort found the top corner of the net.
In homage to Cristiano Ronaldo following his sensational goal, Garnacho replicated the Portuguese star’s renowned Siuu celebration.
Ronaldo is renowned for scoring extraordinary goals, notably a stunning overhead kick in Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Juventus in 2018.
This particular goal is considered one of Ronaldo’s finest achievements, given that it was executed against the legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Garnacho wasn’t the sole standout performer for United in Sunday’s match against Everton. Kobbie Mainoo also delivered an impressive performance in that contest, marking his inaugural start in the Premier League.
