A German-born Ghanaian and winger for Jahn Regensburg, Agyemang Diawusie,  has tragically passed away. He was confirmed to have died on November 28 at the young age of 25.

The cause of his death remains unconfirmed, as both the club and his family have not disclosed further details.

However, Regensburg announced the footballer’s passing on Tuesday through their social media platforms.

“The Jahn family mourns with the bereaved, and our thoughts are with Agyemang’s family, relatives, close friends, and companions. Due to the terrible situation and out of respect for his family, we ask that their privacy be respected,” a statement from the club read.

Born in Berlin to Ghanaian parents, Diawusie had previously represented the European nation at youth levels.

Before his untimely demise, he had played for RB Leipzig, Dynamo Dresden, SpVgg Bayreuth, and Jahn Regensburg. His final appearance for the latter club was on November 4 in a Bundesliga 3 match against 1860 Munich.

Dynamo Dresden expressed their horror and sadness on their official website after the news surfaced.
