The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Honourable Isaac Adongo has finally apologised to Harry Maguire a year after mocking the Manchester United defender.

Adongo gained widespread attention last year when he went viral for likening the footballer to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

However, during Tuesday’s parliamentary session, the MP commended Maguire for his ‘positive transformation’ while criticizing Dr. Bawumia for the economic challenges facing the country.

“Mr Speaker, you’ll remember last year I was very quick to compare my big brother, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to Harry Maguire. Mr Speaker, I now apologise to Maguire. Honourable Kyei Mensah, you got angry when I used your defender,” he said on the floor of Parliament, as sighted on social media.

Adongo, in his commendation, lauded Maguire for ‘making a significant turnaround,’ evolving into a ‘transformative footballer,’ and emerging as a pivotal player for the English powerhouse.

“As for our Maguire, he is now roaming at the IMF with a cup in hand. Our Maguire is able to get pensioners to leave their homes and come and protest.”

Despite a challenging beginning for Manchester United this season, Maguire has played a crucial role for Erik ten Hag’s team. The English defender has participated in 11 matches across all competitions this season.
