Giroud heads France into semi-finals as England crash out

Giroud headed defending champions, France into the Semi-Final on Saturday to set up a mouth-watering clash with Morocco.

France had opened scoring on 17th minute. Antoine Griezmann slid a pass towards Aurelien Tchouameni who unleashed a fabulous shot from long range. The ball went behind the surprised goalkeeper and into the bottom left corner.

Harry Kane received a great pass inside the box and missed a golden chance to draw England level. The goalkeeper pulled off a stunning save.
Kane levelled for England on 54th minute from the penalty spot. He played the ball into the left of the net, giving goalkeeper Hugo Lloris no chance.

On 70th minute, Harry Maguire showed good awareness inside the box as he latched on to a cross from the resulting free kick. He jumped high but his towering header lacked a little bit of accuracy and glances off the left-hand post.
Giroud won it for France 12 minute to duration. He burst into the box to get on the end of a whipped in cross from Antoine Griezmann and scored magnificently from close range into the left side of the goal.

Kane had opportunity to draw England level from the penalty spot after Mason Mount went down under a challenge from the defender.

Kane moved from hero to villain as he wasted the spot kick. He played the ball over the crossbar.
