The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has approved N20 million for the Super Eagles, runners-up at the 2018 African Nations Championships in Morocco, Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Kweku Tandoh, has said.

The governor was in Morocco for the final game against the hosts and pledged to reward the team for braving the odds to reach the final.

Tandoh stated that the official presentation of the cheque to the Eagles would take place soon.

Tandoh said it was part of Ambode’s efforts towards sports development not only in Lagos State but in Nigeria as a whole.

“The governor has always backed his words with action. Last year, he supported MFM with N50m for their 2018 CAF Champions League campaign and also approved the remodelling and modification of the Agege Stadium to meet the Confederation of African Football standard, which has been beneficial to the entire nation,” he stated.
