Harry Kane nets goal as Bayern Munich whip Union Berlin

Harry Kane netted his 33rd Bundesliga goal as Bayern Munich dominated Union Berlin with a resounding 5-1 victory at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei.

Leon Goretzka broke the deadlock in the 29th minute with a superb strike from inside the penalty area.

England’s skipper, Kane, showcased his skill with a perfectly executed curling free-kick just before half-time, doubling Bayern’s lead to 2-0.

The second half saw goals from Mathys Tel and a brace from Thomas Muller, sealing Bayern’s commanding win, while Yorbe Vertessen managed a late consolation for Union.

In the first half, Union adopted a defensive strategy, sitting deep and aiming to hit on the counter against Thomas Tuchel’s side, fresh from securing a spot in the Champions League semi-finals. However, their morale dropped after Goretzka and Kane extended Bayern’s lead, allowing the visitors to dominate the second half.

Tuchel’s team has now moved three points clear of Stuttgart as they aim to secure the second position in the league, with Bayer Leverkusen already crowned Bundesliga champions last weekend.

Meanwhile, Union remains three points above the relegation playoff spot.
