Harry Kane nets goal as Bayern whip Ulm

Harry Kane scored as Bayern Munich dominated second-division Ulm in the German Cup, marking Vincent Kompany’s debut as manager.

England captain Kane sealed Bayern’s 4-0 victory late in the game, following two first-half goals from Thomas Muller and a late strike by Kingsley Coman, which was assisted by former Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Olise.

Kompany joined Bayern from Burnley this summer after the German club experienced their first trophyless season since 2012.

Bayern, 20-time winners of the German Cup, have not advanced past the quarter-finals since their treble-winning season in 2019-20.

Ulm, promoted to the second division last season for the first time in 23 years, were unable to withstand Bayern’s onslaught.
