Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been banned from driving for 56 days and fined £1,052 after being caught speeding twice within three days.

Maguire, 31, was recorded driving his Range Rover at 85mph in a 50mph zone on Wilmslow Road near Manchester Airport in March 2024.

The England international pleaded guilty to the offence at Bolton Magistrates’ Court. Two days later, he was caught speeding again.

At the time of the offences, Maguire already had three penalty points on his licence from 2021. His solicitor, Gwyn Lewis, admitted the speed was “wholly excessive” and noted Maguire could not attend a speed awareness course due to being abroad.

The court imposed a fine of £666, along with £120 in costs and a £266 surcharge.
