‘I don’t care about that man’ – Haaland responds to Keane criticism
When Roy Keane criticized Erling Haaland as being “almost League Two level” following Manchester City’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal, the striker was in a five-match goal drought, and it was the first time City had failed to score in a Premier League game at the Etihad Stadium since October 2021.
At the time, the Premier League title was slipping from City’s reach, with leaders Liverpool two points ahead of Arsenal and three ahead of City.
However, since that lackluster result on March 31, Pep Guardiola’s team has bounced back, winning six consecutive league games. They now sit just one point behind Arsenal, with a game in hand.
Haaland, 23, has been central to this revival, netting seven goals in four league games, including a four-goal haul in a 5-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday.
The Norwegian has not only excelled on the field but has also maintained his composure off the field.
Asked about Keane’s comments after his side’s win at Wolves, he told Viaplay: “I don’t really care that much about that man, so that’s all right.”
