Injured Real Madrid goalkeeper to miss Champions League game

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is uncertain for Real Madrid’s upcoming matches due to a hip injury.

Real Madrid has confirmed that the Belgian sustained an abductor injury in his left leg during their 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Sunday.

The Spanish and European champions are set to face Lille away in the Champions League on Wednesday, followed by a home match against Villarreal on Saturday before the international break.

Courtois, who missed a significant portion of last season due to a knee injury, has started all 10 games for Real this season.

The draw on Sunday was interrupted for approximately 20 minutes in the second half due to crowd disturbances, with Courtois alerting officials that home fans behind his goal were throwing objects onto the pitch.
