Inter Milan extended their lead at the summit of Serie A to 18 points following a narrow victory against Bologna, who are vying for a spot in the Champions League.
Yann Bisseck, the German center-back, bent down to head in the sole goal of the match from Alessandro Bastoni’s delivery eight minutes before halftime.
Inter’s 12th consecutive triumph across all competitions widens their lead ahead of Juventus’ upcoming home fixture against Atalanta on Sunday (17:00 GMT).
Despite suffering just their second home loss of the season, Bologna remains in fourth place.
Although the hosts dominated much of the second half, they couldn’t breach Simone Inzaghi’s resilient defense. Inter has conceded a mere 13 goals in 28 league matches.
This victory marks Inter’s 10th consecutive league win, a feat achieved only three times in their history, as they edge closer to their 20th Serie A title.
Meanwhile, fifth-placed Roma will seek to narrow the gap to Bologna to just one point when they face Fiorentina on Sunday evening (19:45).
