Inter Milan extended their lead at the summit of Serie A by four points after securing a victory against Juventus, with the decisive moment coming from a Federico Gatti own goal.
In the 37th minute, a cross from the right rebounded off Gatti’s chest, giving Inter the lead.
Federico Dimarco’s precise low delivery behind the defense created an opportunity for Marcus Thuram, but his goal attempt was thwarted by a last-ditch tackle from Gleison Bremer.
Inter, currently leading Serie A, have a match in hand over second-placed Juventus and third-placed AC Milan.
Despite being visitors at the San Siro, Juventus had their chances, with Dusan Vlahovic squandering a golden opportunity due to a poor first touch after a pass from Weston McKennie. Vlahovic also tried an overhead kick from a corner, but it sailed over the bar.
Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny made a brilliant save to deny Nicolo Barella’s volley, and he also prevented a late goal from substitute Marko Arnautovic.
Inter Milan remains the only team that has not conceded a goal in the league after the 75th minute this season.
The next match for Inter is against Roma on Saturday, and the team’s last Serie A title was secured in the 2020-21 season.
