Iraola set to leave AFC Bournemouth at the end of the season

Andoni Iraola will leave AFC Bournemouth at the end of the 2025/26 season, according to an official club statement.

The club confirmed that the head coach’s departure will bring an end to his three-year spell on the south coast, describing his tenure as highly successful.

Since his appointment, Bournemouth has remained in the Premier League and recorded notable progress, including a club-record 56 points in the 2024/25 season and a joint-highest finish of ninth place.

Iraola is credited with helping to shape the club’s identity in the top flight, gaining recognition for his attacking style of play and focus on developing both young and experienced players. Fitness coach Pablo de la Torre will also leave the club at the end of the season.

Club chairman Bill Foley praised Iraola’s impact, noting that he played a key role in transforming the team’s direction with his intensity, tactical ideas, and clear philosophy.

Head of Football Operations Tiago Pinto also commended the coach’s professionalism and influence on player development, while expressing respect for his decision to step down.

In his own statement, Iraola expressed gratitude to the club, players, staff, and fans, saying he is proud of what was achieved during his time at Bournemouth and believes it is the right moment to move on.
