Super Eagles midfielder Alexander Iwobi was captured on video radiating joy as he makes his way to the national team’s camp in anticipation of their upcoming friendlies.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to engage in international friendlies against Ghana’s Black Stars and Mali’s Eagles on March 22 and 26, respectively, in Morocco.
Among the early arrivals at the camp are Alexander Iwobi, Moses Simon, Stanley Nwabali, Jamilu Collins, and Bruno Onyemaechi.
Other players currently in camp include Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
In a video, Iwobi can be heard expressing his excitement ahead of his journey to Morocco for national team duty.
Recall that Iwobi faced criticism and bullying during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), with Super Eagles supporters expressing displeasure with his performance in the tournament.
Following the tournament in Cote D’Ivoire, the Fulham midfielder reportedly faced a barrage of cyberbullying, leading him to remove all images and videos from his Instagram account.
However, the midfielder returned to social media a few days later and has been in excellent form for his clubside as they strive for a European place finish in the English Premier League table.
This gathering will mark the first reunion of the Super Eagles since their silver-medal finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
