Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has posted a video revealing the state of the hotel arranged for the team ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup African play-off match against Gabon in Morocco.
According to information gathered by PUNCH Online, the Confederation of African Football is responsible for securing accommodation for participating teams. However, national associations, including the Nigeria Football Federation, can lodge complaints and request different lodging arrangements if the need arises.
This incident adds to previous concerns raised by Nigerian players about accommodation during international competitions. Earlier in the year, Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade faulted the rooms allocated by CAF during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Super Eagles are set to meet Gabon in the African play-off in Morocco on November 13 as they continue their fight for a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
At the time of this report, neither CAF nor the NFF has released an official response to the video.
