Jamaica head coach Rudolph Speid has invited Manchester United defender Dante Plunkett to his squad ahead of the Unity Cup final against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The 18-year-old received his maiden invitation to the Jamaican national team and is expected to join the squad for Friday’s training session.
Plunkett signed for Manchester United in 2024 after impressing during a trial period with the club.
The young left-back featured in 15 matches for Manchester United’s U-18 side in all competitions during the 2025/26 season. He previously spent time at Premier League club Aston Villa.
Jamaica target revenge against Nigeria
The Reggae Boyz will take on the Super Eagles in the final of the invitational tournament at The Valley on Saturday night.
Both teams met in last year’s final, which ended 2-2 before Nigeria triumphed 5-4 on penalties to retain the title they had earlier won in 2002 and 2004.
Speid’s side will now be aiming to avenge that defeat when they face the Super Eagles again.
Jamaica booked their place in the final with a 2-0 victory over India, while Nigeria also defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the semi-final.
