On Thursday morning, the Super Falcons were defeated 2-0 by a dominant Japan side in a friendly match at the Noevir Stadium in Kobe.

Mina Tanaka scored both goals for the Nadeshiko in the third meeting between the two teams.

Rany Waldrum was missing Asisat Oshoala but had Chiamaka Nnadozie in goal, who made crucial saves to keep the score close.

Although the team had other stars such as Rasheedat Ajibade, Michelle Alozie, Uchenna Kanu, and Ngozi Okobe, they were second fiddle to the Nadeshiko.

Takana got Japan in the lead in the 64th minute tapping home from a freekick before doubling the advantage four minutes later from the spot.

The Super Falcons are now without a win in their last five games.
