Two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua may step back into the boxing ring in 2023. Tyson Fury‘s representative, Frank Warren, has proposed Daniel Dubois as a potential opponent for Joshua’s upcoming fight.
Joshua has secured two consecutive victories in 2023, bouncing back from successive losses to Oleksandr Usyk. He is now determined to climb his way back to face the top-tier heavyweights in the upcoming months.
The 33-year-old has been linked to a 2024 showdown with Deontay Wilder but with that fight still not confirmed, this leaves open the possibility for the British-Nigerian fighter to consider various options, and according to Warren, Dubois could be an excellent choice.”
Last month, the British challenger journeyed to Poland but was halted by Usyk.
Although Dubois lost the fight, he left the ring with his head held high. He feels unlucky to have lost after one of his punches was ruled low by the referee.
“I’ll tell you a good fight if that doesn’t happen,” said Warren when speaking to IFLTV on the potential clash between Joshua and Wilder.”
“You know what would be a good fight in the UK and people would buy tickets to watch it, and we’ll see who is the biggest puncher and who has got the biggest heart? Him (Joshua) and Daniel Dubois.”
“That would sell out anywhere. You can’t say it’s not going to sell. It would sell. It’s a big fight.”
