Veteran forward Ahmed Musa has been included in the Super Eagles squad for the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The Kano Pillars star was named in the 39-man provisional squad, which features a mix of familiar faces, new talents, and previously overlooked players.
Musa, Nigeria’s all-time top scorer at the World Cup, was absent from the Super Eagles squad that secured silver at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) early last year.
Head coach Eric Chelle, who has actively scouted the domestic league since his appointment last year, has included several Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) stars to bolster the team’s options.
Among the home-based players invited are Kayode Bankole of Remo Stars, Rangers’ Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Papa Daniel Mustapha of Niger Tornadoes, and Musa, representing Kano Pillars.
