Harry Kane found the net against his former team for the first time as Bayern Munich thrashed Tottenham 4-0 in a pre-season friendly on Thursday.

Kane, Tottenham’s all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances, opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a clinical finish inside the penalty area. Just two minutes later, he had the chance to double the lead from the spot after Joao Palhinha—who joined Spurs on loan from Bayern last Sunday—conceded a penalty. However, the England captain slipped during his run-up, sending the ball over the bar in his first penalty miss since the 2022 World Cup quarter-final defeat to France.

Kingsley Coman doubled Bayern’s advantage with a stunning curling strike from the edge of the box on 61 minutes, before youngsters Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare added late goals to seal the dominant win. The fixture served as Bayern’s final tune-up ahead of next Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup clash against European champions Paris Saint-Germain, while Spurs’ mixed pre-season under new coach Thomas Frank has seen wins over Arsenal and Reading but draws with Newcastle, Luton, and Wycombe.
