Bayern Munich continued their impressive start to the season with a commanding victory over Bundesliga newcomers FC Heidenheim.
The game, characterized by a series of goals, sparked to life in the 14th minute as striker Harry Kane, assisted by Leroy Sane, scored from the edge of the box.
Right before halftime, the formidable duo teamed up once more to further increase the lead for Thomas Tuchel’s team.
In spite of FC Heidenheim mounting a comeback with two rapid goals between the 67th and 70th minutes, Bayern had sufficient strength in their squad to fend off any late surge.
Goals from substitutes Raphael Guerreiro and Eric Choupo-Moting ensured a comfortable victory for the Bavarian club.
In the midst of the action at the Allianz Arena, star forward Kane etched his name in history by becoming the first player in the 61-year history of the German Bundesliga to score 17 goals in his initial 11 league appearances, according to reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Kane’s exceptional form surpassed last season’s tally of 16, which earned both Niclas Fullkrug and Christopher Nkunku the Golden Cannon prize as the league’s top scorers.
Following the game, the 30-year-old forward spoke to the media, discussing his performance and other topics.
In a conversation with journalist Martin Volkmar, according to reports, Kane commented on his team’s victory, saying, “We showed a great reaction after their equalizer. I’m just enjoying playing with the team. My body is used to the strain from the Premier League, but it was a tough week.”
In response to inquiries about surpassing the Bundesliga goal record set by former Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Kane remarked, “Good question, I’ll probably be asked about that all season. But there’s still a long way to go.”
Although Kane has played down his prospects, he is on track to surpass Lewandowski’s record. He needs to score 25 more goals in the remaining 23 league games to achieve this feat.
